jen-jen {collection blocks}

Jenni Mckenzie is a talented Durban creative who started a design studio in 2011, while still working full-time. She's dedicated, loves what she does, and is a good friend of mine. Her collection blocks are a huge hit, and you'll find her at popular Durban markets such as I Heart. It's my privilege to present to you: her stand at the East Coast Radio House & Garden Show. The show runs from now until the 22nd of June, and is packed with beautiful items, furniture and good food.

For more info on Jen-Jen, or to purchase prints online:

gangs of ballet {merch pics}

Gangs of Ballet. If you haven't heard of this band - Google them. They are: "H", Brad, Jono and Josh from Durban and are making headline news all over South Africa. 5fm interviews and airplay, Cell C adverts and sponsorship, and the list goes on. Their EP is fantastic, and so is the album art. At the Deep End launch last Friday, every person was handed a free 2GB Cell C flash stick (thank you Cell C) and at the end of the night I walked away with my R60 EP in hand :) Here are my visual mementos of an awesome gig, held in an empty pool opposite City Hall:

colourful cupcakes

It's been ages since my last post! Apologies to any frequent readers I may have - I started a new job this year and the long hours have taken their toll on my blog. But I have a few pics to share with you today, taken last Monday evening with two of my closest friends from school. One of them (Cara) was visiting from England and she organised a lovely course with a lady in PMB: learning how to decorate cupcakes. Yes, we went wild. Here are my creations.. I am not so good at icing, but I had fun nonetheless ;)

prime circle poster

I was privileged to have been asked to design a poster for Prime Circle's album launch show in Pietermaritzburg. They are one of South Africa's most popular bands, and have made their name internationally as well.

You can check out more about the band on their website: http://www.primecircle.co.za

Apparently there are also A5 leaflets:)
My mom found these in Park Lane Spar..
{She's the best, by the way.}

david phipson {album cover}

In one of my earlier posts I featured the David Phipson band shoot, which served as a starting point for the cd cover design. Last Friday night the band had their album launch, and it went fantastically well. The cover was printed & packaged in Cape Town at Hybrid Media: http://www.hybridmedia-solutions.co.za

I was very impressed with their printing. Printing can make or break a design, and it's the cause of 90% of artwork issues! In this case there were no issues, and Hybrid Media now have one more loyal customer to add to their list (that would be me).
