{the thrift collection} tea party

About a month ago I entered a competition held by The Thrift Collection, and much to my surprise and excitement, I won!

If you haven't heard of The Thrift Collection - go and check out their website, and have fun doing some second-hand shopping online. If you are a lover of all things vintage, I guarantee that you'll enjoy this blog. It's such a great idea! Clothing for men & women, accessories, and home goodies are all available for purchase online. Here are some photos from their first ever Tea Party last Saturday the 27th - held at Alliance Francaise in Windemere Road, Durban.

Well done Pippa and Bevan on an awesome concept and a wonderful open day:) Looking forward to the next one.. and I'm also looking forward to spending my voucher - everything sells quickly though so if you're keen to shop, be sure to check on Sunday nights for new stock ;) xox

bean green {for caffeine}

The 3rd of August was my friend Nadine's birthday - and she celebrated in style with some of her favourite people at Bean Green Coffee Roastery in Davenport Road, Durban. The roastery is usually only open during the day; but as this was a special occasion, we were able to party into the evening. If you live in Durban - visit this place sometime and sample the delicious coffee. :)

mike 'wazowski' livesey

I can't do another blog post without first honouring my friend Mike, who was killed on Saturday the 30th July. I had only known him for 7 months, but his life impacted mine and many, many others. This was proven at the Celebration of his Life last Friday, because the whole of Northwood Boys school hall was packed with people. The testimonies that were shared touched even those who hardly knew him. Through this tough time his family and close friends have unified and strengthened each other in a way that I have never witnessed before. I'll never forget this time - Mike, your life had greater significance than you could have realised, because you lived it so fully, for God. I hope to be more like you.

"..and now He has made all of this plain to us
by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Saviour.
He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life
and immortality through the Good News." ~ 1 Timothy 1:10 (NLT)

gary & teraza {part one}

Gary and Teraza are a truly fantastic couple with a great story. They were blessed with a lovely warm winter's day for their wedding - which was held at Abingdon Estate in the Midlands. It was a celebration from start to finish. The ceremony was officiated by Ross Rodger from Olive Tree Church in Durban. I've been part of the Olive Tree community since March this year. If you are looking for a church, or just want to see what this Christian thing is all about, check out http://olivetreechurch.org and visit us sometime.

Hope you enjoy the pics:) Click HERE for {part two}
