{the thrift collection} tea party

About a month ago I entered a competition held by The Thrift Collection, and much to my surprise and excitement, I won!

If you haven't heard of The Thrift Collection - go and check out their website, and have fun doing some second-hand shopping online. If you are a lover of all things vintage, I guarantee that you'll enjoy this blog. It's such a great idea! Clothing for men & women, accessories, and home goodies are all available for purchase online. Here are some photos from their first ever Tea Party last Saturday the 27th - held at Alliance Francaise in Windemere Road, Durban.

Well done Pippa and Bevan on an awesome concept and a wonderful open day:) Looking forward to the next one.. and I'm also looking forward to spending my voucher - everything sells quickly though so if you're keen to shop, be sure to check on Sunday nights for new stock ;) xox

CT diary #8: hospice

Hospice Charity Shop: the only place in the country where you can buy a really rad skirt for only R15. My friend is a fashion designer - making fantastic fashion finds is part of her job, so she took me to her favourite Hospice in Cape Town, and after being shown a lot of weird & wonderful clothes, we both emerged with some great stuff (spending less than R50 each).

anthea joy fashion

This shoot showcased the portfolio of Cape Town based fashion designer Anthea Geary.

On a warm winter's afternoon in July, we drove to a little caravan camp outside of Howick and set up: armed with two cars, a tent, food, and many clothes. The models were great - they had to change outfits over and over again.. but did so without complaint:) By the end of the shoot the sun was disappearing and the temperature had dropped to arctic degrees, but the girls stood their ground courageously while I snapped away at breakneck speed..

Afterwards we were all rewarded with blankets, cheese rolls, and copious amounts of chocolate.

sky mountain people

The Ranks make lank kiff music.
{www.myspace.com/theranksmusic}

They had their EP {"Sky Mountain Brave"} launch in May of this year. I had just bought my Canon 550D and was overly keen to take photos. More keen than usual, and those who know me will think: "wow, really?" So I stood at the door & snapped people as they came in.

PS. I'm in here somewhere as well ;)
