justin & nicola

{Anniversary Shoot} These were taken during the weekend of the Mr Price Pro in Ballito, on a lovely stretch of beach called Salt Rock. We had a great shoot, marred only briefly by a random dog who relieved himself on Justin's towel and my open bag.. ew.

This couple were so much fun to photograph, and were willing to try any backdrop. Whether it involved climbing stairs, trees, or bridges - you name it, they did it:)

charlotte, is that you?

Photography is not always cushy work. The other day I needed a rock for a shoot I was doing, so I found one in my garden and hauled it into the house. As I placed the massive thing on the table (with very little elegance), I saw a large spider on the top, 10cm from my face. Like most women, I can't stand spiders.. so I screamed, naturally. Then I took a photo. Then I got rid of it. So I hope it wasn't Charlotte.

I felt imaginary spiders crawling on me for about an hour afterwards.

david phipson band

This month Arise Studios (www.arisestudios.co.za) recorded David Phipson, a musician from Ballito who is writing some really great songs. I partner with the studio by offering a photo shoot / cd cover package. On one of the recording days there was a power failure at the studio venue, which also includes my office.. so the band & I took a quick trip to the old railway tunnel in Hilton, where we got some rockstar pics for the album cover:)

daniel & trish

For this wedding I was a bridesmaid - not the photographer.. but I bought my camera along anyway. I'm so glad I did, since the venue was incredible. It was set in the Drakensberg Amphitheatre - we had perfect weather, and Trish looked gorgeous. It felt a bit surreal being in such a beautiful place.. God really is the ultimate artist.

below are two of the professional pics:

brandon & stephanie

When I first went off to varsity, I didn't know a soul - but I soon found a great group of friends. Among them were Brandon and Steph, who had also just met each other, and who ended up getting married in May of this year. This made it a special wedding to photograph, and I felt blessed to have been asked. That day the rain poured down on Botanical Gardens in Durban, but thankfully I had two friends with me to hold umbrellas & equipment (thanks guys) so I got some pics of the ceremony. The weather didn't effect the couple's mood at all, they were smiling & laughing throughout the day:)

More pics to come of the post-wedding garden shoot, so look out for those..
